Abstract
Cruise tourism has become a key economic factor in various countries around the world since it enables the host country to receive the much needed foreign currency and international visitors.
Repeat tourism is one of the key benefits of cruise tourism and it is a well known fact that cruise tourists are more likely to come back to the same country in the near future and this ultimately
leads to more foreign currency coming into the host country’s national financial system. The value of cruise ships to the global economy keeps increasing on a regular basis. Another key
benefit of cruise tourism is that more jobs are created in various sectors of an economy such as the retail, hospitality, hotel, telecommunications, transport, energy and so on since international
tourists spend their foreign currency buying local products and services. Trains have become one of the most preferred form of transport to use every day to commute in most towns, cities and or
countries. It can be academically argued that the economic and societal development of a country is generally interrelated with the increasing popularity of trains amongst commuters from
different geographical locations of a country.
